After the success of the RTCU CX1 flex we now have the pleasure to launch the new
RTCU DX4 flex
. Both flex devices offer unprecedented flexibility in that hardware options can be ordered and applied when required. This lowers the initial cost of the device and gives after-sales potential with new features and functions applied on-demand!

To support the new RTCU DX4 flex we also present the availability of the RTCU IDE 6.20
and X32 firmware 2.81.

RTCU DX4 flex

 

The RTCU DX4 flex is designed for a broad range of advanced
wireless monitoring, control and remote access applications,
which require a product based on the most versatile and powerful platform available today. The RTCU DX4 flex offers a perfect balance between low-cost and advanced features and with the unique ‘on-demand options’, hardware features can be enabled as required – even after the product has been installed in the field!


The RTCU DX4 flex is a
low-cost product based on the RTCU DX4 pro with a unique approach to the market. The standard hardware features of the RTCU DX4 flex are very powerful, but various hardware options can be activated on-demand from within the RTCU IDE or by the unit itself after installation. 
The following options are available:
  •  Digital I/O option: Full Digital I/O with 8 digital inputs and 8 digital outputs.
  •  Analog I/O option: Full Analog I/O with 4 analog inputs and 4 analog outputs. 
  •  Communication option: RS485/MODBUS and 1-wire support.
  •  Performance option: Very fast execution (48 Mhz) and X32 Enhanced Memory.


The impressive RTCU DX4 flex feature-list includes:

  •  Based on the well proven X32-architecture.
  •  Huge memory capacity with optional X32 Enhanced Memory support.
  •  100% software compatible with all current and past RTCU units!
  •  Quad Band GSM Engine for world-wide operation. External SMA connector.
  •  Prepared for deployment of Gemalto embedded M2M SIM chip.
  •  Supports GSM features such as SMS/PDU/CSD/GPRS.
  •  Full support for sending e-mails with attachment (SMTP)
  •  Full FTP support.
  •  GPRS Class 10 with full RTCU Gateway Professional and VSMS support.
  •  Internal 512 KB Flash-Drive with full FAT32 support.
  •  Optional 1-Wire bus for connecting devices such as ID-Button reader
     and Temperature sensor
  •  Programming port.
  •  One optional primary RS485 for I/O extension or general purpose use.
  •  Optional secondary RS485 channel (shared with programming port).
  •  Full MODBUS SLAVE support for SCADA integration or I/O slave module.
  •  Full MODBUS MASTER support for easy I/O extension capability.
  •  Transparent I/O extension using I/O Manager integrated into the RTCU IDE.
      Remote I/O appears the same way as on-board I/O!
  •  On board 5 digital inputs, 3 digital outputs, 2 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs.
  •  Optional full I/O with:
     
    8 digital inputs, 8 digital outputs, 4 analog inputs and 4 analog outputs.
  •  Up to four IEC62053-31 Class B (S0) compliant digital inputs.
  •  Analog inputs supports 0..10V and 0..20 mA.
  •  Two-part pluggable connectors for fast installation and maintenance.  
     (Detachable mating plug must be ordered separately)
  •  On-board temperature sensor.
  •  On-board battery charger with battery pack (900 mAh).
  •  Advanced power-management with power-down and wait-for-event modes
     Wake-up on: Digital input, Timeout, GSM-, RS485- or RS232-activity
  •  Encapsulated in a M36 DIN-rail enclosure. 
  •  Fully supported by the powerful RTCU IDE development environment.
  •  CE approval according to EU EMC Directive 2004/108/EU.

RTCU IDE V6.20


This minor release of the RTCU IDE supports the new RTCU DX4 flex.
The list of enhancements:



General Enhancements:

  •  Support for the new RTCU DX4 flex. 
  •  + other minor improvements.  

Simulator Enhancements:

  •  Enhanced MDT simulator support with a connected NMP device.
  •  + other minor enhancements.

Bugs which have been fixed in this release:

  •  Example programs were with double-line space, when copied to the editor.
  •  Special characters in CSD dial-string were not accepted.
  •  In some cases an incorrect unit password could crash the RTCU IDE.
  •  The RTCU IDE could in some cases crash when closed.

X32 Firmware V2.81


This is a minor release for the entire X32 series primarily released to support the new
RTCU DX4 flex.
The list of enhancements and bug fixes are:


Enhancements:

  •  Support for the new RTCU DX4 flex.

Bug Fixes:

  •  Slow RTCU DX4 pro display access.
  •  RTCU SX1 pro may reset in certain cases under heavy GPRS communication.
  •  Reset may occur during lengthy data-logger operations.
  •  + other minor bug fixes.


Most of the above features also require the installation of the new RTCU IDE 6.20.
