First of all the best season's
greetings and best wishes for the New Year to all our customers and
partners. This first newsletter, in this still fresh New Year, is
sent out to inform you about the new releases of the RTCU IDE and the
GPRS
Upgrade & Deployment Server.

RTCU IDE 4.64 released
RTCU IDE version 4.64 has been
released with the following
enhancements:
- The datalogger now includes a
possibility to fetch data based on tag-id.
- Feature to save debug messages in
the Simulator has been added.
- Support for Encrypted include
(.INC) files, so that the VPL source code is unreadable.

- The status bar is now cleared when a
connection over GPRS is initiated.
- Periodically loss of the connection to a unit over
serial cable that sometimes required a restart of the RTCU IDE.
This has been fixed.
- Sporadic connection problems to a unit over
GPRS has been fixed.
- Possibility to resume an
interrupted background transfer with a modified project has been
fixed.
- EIS Compiler support for
constant data increased from 32 KB to 64KB in a single task.
- + smaller number of fixes and
enhancements.

GPRS Upgrade & Deployment Server 1.10 released
The GPRS Upgrade & Deployment Server (UDS)
offers sophisticated features for Upgrade & Deployment of a number of RTCU
units in operation. The UDS can be configured by the user to ensure that
the specified units are running the correct
firmware and/or application. The UDS will automatically upgrade the
units as requested and this task will even take
place during FULL operation of the units. Any interruption in an upgrade attempt will be automatically handled and resumed to
avoid any waste of expensive bandwidth.
The following features has been added in version
1.10:
- It is now possible to only include
application or firmware in profiles.
- When an application or firmware
file is changed the path to the old file is used as start
location unless a default path is selected.
- It is now possible to Import and
Export units (From/to comma delimited file).
- It is now possible to deactivate
units for more flexible management.
- Log size has been limited to
500.000 entries and Log rendering has been improved to reduce
the memory consumption.
- The menu item "Force upgrade" has
been renamed to "Initiate upgrade".
- Status messages have been expanded
to include more information.
- It is now possible to filter the
Unit info window to only show units that are using a specific
profile.
- The UDS only updates a unit after
a bootup message is received.
- Yellow and green dots has been
added to the Unit information window.

2005 and can be downloaded from

The "next generation" RTCU that will be a more compact design with a
powerfull 32-bit processor, extremely advanced power-management,
CAN-bus, SD-CARD support, Bluetooth and Camera support. -
Encrypted and Compressed GPRS Gateway communication.
Higher safety and lower communication costs are the result of these
coming features! -
